Curriculum

The curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of all learners. It adapts to where children are in their learning journey and supports them in becoming respectful, responsible, and active members of their community. They aim to develop confident, enthusiastic, and motivated learners who are well-prepared for the future.

What They Offer

  • Expansive Grounds: Multiple playgrounds, climbing frames for Nursery, KS1, and KS2, plus a large sports field.
  • Sporting Success: Regular participation and achievement in football (boys & girls), netball, athletics, and cross-country.
  • Music for All: Weekly music lessons for every child, with private tuition available.
  • Forest School: Exceptional outdoor learning opportunities, including a dedicated pond area.
  • Phonics & Languages: Daily phonics sessions in Reception & KS1; weekly French lessons in KS2.
  • Exciting Curriculum: Engaging topics and progressive learning experiences.
  • Clubs & Activities: A wide range of clubs including sports, arts, music, and languages.
  • Nursery Provision: Open all year round, 8am – 6pm.
  • Wraparound Care: Available from 8am – 8:45am and 3:15pm – 5:45pm.
  • Educational Trips: Termly trips and an annual Year 6 residential to Skerne Lodge.

Community & Support

PTFA (Parent, Teacher, Friends Association)

Our PTFA is a vibrant group of parents who organise events to raise funds for the school. Their contributions have supported:

  • iPads and technology
  • Climbing frames for Nursery & KS1
  • Subsidised trips
  • Sporting trophies and certificates
  • Forest School and other resources

Events include discos, fayres, bingo, raffles, cake sales, and pre-loved uniform sales.

Governing Body

Our committed Governing Body regularly visits the school and works closely with leadership to ensure continuous improvement and excellence in provision.

Staff Commitment

Our staff are hardworking, dedicated, and focused on school improvement. Many pursue professional development through training and courses. Regular progress meetings, assessment weeks, and staff collaboration ensure high-quality education for all.
