Richard Huish Trust is an independent charitable organisation established by Richard Huish College, an academy sponsor approved by the Department for Education, to support local schools.
The Trust, like Richard Huish College, has a clear vision to provide exceptional education and training through the delivery of a holistic and vocational curriculum. Overseen by the College, graded by Ofsted as outstanding, the Group is uniquely placed to enable young people’s progression throughout their school career and beyond into further or higher education, training and employment.
The Trust aims to nurture the individuality of its member schools, identifying the areas of strength and distinctive features of the local community in order to promote sustainable improvement. The Multi Academy Trust (MAT) model offers a school the potential to retain its unique characteristics and to maintain its own local governing body; this model also offers head teachers a high degree of autonomy in the work of leading their schools, with the freedom to focus on teaching and learning.
