Our Team

I was fortunate enough to serve as Principal of Richard Huish College from January 2013 to August 2020, having worked at Huish since 2003 in previous roles including Assistant Principal and Faculty Director. I have worked in education for over 25 years and am passionate about the transformative impact it can have on people’s lives, particularly young people.

I have been working for Richard Huish in the role of Chief Finance Officer for a little over four years. Prior to joining Huish, I accumulated more than 25 years of experience in similar roles across several Further Education colleges.

I work with our schools and Trust colleagues, leading the HR and Payroll function. This includes working with Head Teachers and senior leaders on people strategies, policies, and procedures; developing and enhancing the benefits available to staff across the Trust; and collaborating with colleagues on projects that will impact the people who work within our organisation.

I work as part of the Richard Huish Central Services team, developing and implementing shared IT services and support for the schools. My role includes providing guidance and consultation on IT and print solutions, procuring equipment and licences, implementing projects such as central network and infrastructure refreshes, ensuring the IT control environment is robust and compliant with statutory requirements, and keeping up to date with new technologies to improve IT facilities and the overall experience of all stakeholders wherever possible.

I have worked at Richard Huish since 2000 and have held various roles during this time, including Information Technology Manager and Information Systems Manager at Richard Huish College. I have been part of Richard Huish Central Services since 2023.

Since 2010, I have worked in a variety of roles supporting children with SEMH. I hold an unwavering belief that “children do well if they can”—and if they are not doing well, it is our collective responsibility as practitioners to support them so that they can succeed. I am deeply interested in the impact of trauma and adverse life experiences on the brain, and in how we can help to heal this damage through understanding and evidence‑informed practice.

I oversee Huish’s financial operations, including budgeting, reporting and compliance, and work closely with senior leaders to support strategic decision-making. I am supported by a skilled and dedicated finance team, who provide expert guidance and operational support across our academies.

Our aim is to safeguard Huish’s financial health and maximise resources so academies can focus on delivering exceptional educational outcomes and providing the best opportunities for learners. My journey with Huish began in 2015 as an adult AAT accountancy student, before joining the company in 2019 and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACCA) in 2023.

My experience in education spans from Early Years to post-16, including mainstream, special, alternative and hospital settings. In addition to my role at the Huish Centre I am a freelance educator, speaker and adviser.

I designed the ‘Finding my Voice’ Oracy approach, I’m a collaborator for Myatt & Co and also a fellow of the Chartered college, and recently lead on the Oracy strand for the ‘Re-thinking curriculum project‘.

I’m and deeply honoured to be the Director of The Centre for Practitioner Development at Richard Huish College leading on the re-professionalisation of education.

I manage the IT Service Team, providing IT support and guidance to all staff and students within Richard Huish College and across the Trust as a whole.  My team and I resolve issues with devices and software, and seek to help advise on best practice in all IT areas.

I work closely with the Trustees who make up the Board of Directors for Richard Huish Trust to ensure that we are compliant and forward‑thinking in all aspects of governance. I line manage and collaborate with the central team of clerks, who provide high‑quality governance support to the Local Governing Bodies in the college and our schools. This support enables governors to remain focused on improving educational standards, while feeling confident that the operational details are being managed effectively.

I began my career in education as an Educational Researcher at the University of Cambridge before going on to train as a History and Sociology teacher. I have worked in the Post-16 educational sector since 2003.

I am the proud Headteacher of Lyngford Park Primary & Nursery. Altogether, there are around 300 children on our roll and more than 50 members of staff. Our Reception admission numbers in recent years have been oversubscribed, and we continue to strive to be the best we can be.

I am proud to be the Headteacher of North Curry C of E Primary School since September 2017.
